As I promised from my previous posts, I will explore more about the world of juicing.  There are many benefits of why you should start juicing.  Some benefits are obvious and some you may not know.  However, I will explain all the benefits, facts and myths about juicing as well as picking the best juicers on the market. I’ve learned how to start juicing back in 2012 when I was looking for an easier way to consume all the nutrients that my body needs on a daily basis.

Juicing obviously is a simple and delicious way to consume fruits and vegetables.  However, many may not know that you normally will feel more energize when you drink juice.  This has been scientifically studied. I’m not talking about juice you buy at the store.  I’m talking about juice that you process through a juicer with no preservatives.

You can experiment on different combination and discover the right taste for you. Obviously the more combination of fruits and vegetables, the more nutrients you will get.

One thing to keep in mind, if you have the funds purchase a masticating juicer from the get go.  Don’t go for the cheap juicers since they won’t last you a long time.  Masticating juicers are slow juicers which gives out high yield of juice.  They are also much more quieter than the other juicing machines. They are a bit more expensive but it is well worth the money if you are serious about juicing and plan to juice regularly.

If you are looking for a recommendation on which juicer you should buy, go for an Omega, Breville, or Hurom juicer brands.  These juicing brands normally have high quality products which will last you for many years.  I personally have the Hurom model.  I’ve been using my juicer every day for the past 4 years without fail.

For those of you who are looking to start drinking wine, there are many benefits of why you should drink wine. Obviously most people drink it for taste and getting a little bit of the edge off your body.  However, there are truly many benefits in drinking wine which are clinically proven.

Here are 6 benefits of why you should start:

  1. Drinking wine is good for your heart.  According to Mayo Clinic, the antioxidants that you get in wine will help prevent heart disease.
  2. It will lower cholesterol level especially if you combine it with working out.  Studies have shown for people that workout at least twice a week and drink regularly at least 2-3 glasses every day have shown an improvement in cholesterol.

Improve Your Blood Sugar With These Two Easy To Follow Tips

Let’s face it.  There are more people with diabetes than ever before.  I help many clients with diabetes to come up with a health nutrition and exercise plan that they can easily follow and implement on a daily basis.  The increase is diabetes is mainly caused by all the foods around us.

There are two tips easy tips that I tell all my clients to start right away.  These tips are small tweaks to your daily routine.  These tips are not hard to follow.  These tweaks however can make a different in keeping your blood sugar in line.

First thing to do is taking a walk after each meal.  Taking a walk after each meal will decrease blood sugar by up to 22%.  Take a walk after breakfast, lunch and dinner.  I know that not every one can take walks after a meal.  You could be at work or taking care of chores after a meal.  However, if you have time at least do a 10 minute walk in one of the meals of the day. I’m not talking about running, just a simple walk will greatly decrease your blood sugar. If you can do a walk after all the meals of the day, then great.  If not, it is not the end of the world, just try to do one of the meals where you do a short walk.

Secondly, during meals eat your carbs last.  Go for your protein or vegetables first.  This will decrease your blood sugar by up to 29%.  The reasoning behind this is your body slows down on absorbing carbohydrates when you eat meat or vegetables first.  Which in turn lower your blood sugar.  This is really simple to implement.  You are not giving up anything.  You are simply changing the order of how you eat your food.

One bonus tip: Start juicing. If you hate eating tons of vegetables and fruits. Juicing will allow you to consume all the nutrients from fruits and vegetables without having to eat them manually.  Not only are they nutritious but also delicious.
